Colour Ribbons was established in August 1984 to manufacture coated and uncoated hot slit ribbon for producing garment labels. Several years later, the Company acquired the commission dye works of Sheldon Brook Ltd who themselves had a highly regarded reputation in the packaging industry for dyeing decorative satins to meet the high standards demanded. This acquisition ensured the quality of products supplied by Colour Ribbons Ltd remained consistent for both the labelling and packaging industries and this is confirmed with increases in sales over recent years.

A major development in 1992 was the installation of needle looms together with a dyeing and finishing plant in a purpose built factory to supply soft woven edge material in white and colours for intimate apparel wear. This product, as with all our range, quickly earned a reputation for its consistent high quality finish and allowed our customers to produce highly defined printed labels.

In the year 2000 a weaving facility was opened in Thailand to reduce the delivery time to our customers in Asia. This also incorporated full warping and dyeing/finishing facilities; Colour Ribbons is producing locally all types of label and decorative ribbons for the Asian markets and exporting to the rest of the world.

In September 2001 further strides were made onto the North American continent, when a warehouse facility was opened, enabling the company to increase its already strong presence even further and explore other market opportunities in Central and South America.

During 2004, further expansion became necessary at our narrow weaving facilities in Thailand to enable us to continue to meet our increasing market share. The additional capacity following the installation of new weaving, warping and dyeing machinery has been instrumental in the Company’s growth, and ensured a continued ability to meet our customers’ ever-changing requirements.
